Hidimba Temple

Hidimba Devi Temple is one of the main places to visit in Manali, you can reach here by auto rickshaw or car from city center. It is an ancient cave temple made with woods. The temple is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhima the famous figure of Epic Mahabharata.

Manu Temple

The Hindu lawgiver Manu temple is located here in Manali, as the place got itself name after the Manu. Manu is also known as creator of world and writer of Manusmirti. This temple is located at the distance of 3 Km from city center in the old Manali.  You can see the river Beas from here.

Manali Sanctuary

The sanctuary in located at the distance of 2 Km from Manali city center and it is a wildlife sanctuary. The trip to Manali is incomplete without visit the Manali wildlife sanctuary.  It is the catchment of Manalsu khad. You can see the dense forest with oak, deodar trees here and visit the wildlife from near.  The entry fee is 10 Rupees and the timing to visit this sanctuary is between 7:30 Am mornings to 5:30 Pm evening.  So while planning a trip to Kullu Manali you should add this place to your list and opened throughout the year for tourists.

Mall Road Manali

It is a local market, as we know that Mall roads located in every hill station with best of the city market with local items and many other local things you can purchase in. The Manali local administration offices are also located here. During day time the vehicles are not allowed in here and you have to park outside in the parking to visit the Mall Road. You can see the old shops and do some shopping in the Mall road.

Jogini Water Falls Manali

An amazing waterfall you should visit during your trip to Manali, located 3 Km far from Manali city center and 2 Km away from Vashishtha Temple.  You can trek to the Vashishtha Temple and then to Jogini water fall. You can see the amazing views of Beas River and mountains from here.  There are some local snacks shops near the Jogini falls you can have a cup of tea in.  As well as Rohtang mountains snowcapped view can be seen from here.

Museum of Himachal Culture & Folk Arts

It is a small museum located near the Hidimba Devi Temple. You can see the Himachal Pradesh heritage of various traditional items here. The museum was built in 1998 for the collection of antiques heritages of Himachal Pradesh.  You can see here the display model of temples, old houses and forts of Himachal. Himalayan Nyinmapa Tibetan Buddhist Monastery

Best Time to Visit Manali:-

The beautiful hill station Manali can be visited throughout the year and also a weekend destinations from Dehradun, Chandigarh and Delhi. During the winter months you can do skiing in Manali, you will enjoy the snow falls and great views of snowcapped mountains.

Avoid during the rainy season from July-August month because of heavy rain falls and land sliding in some places.

March to June is one of the best times to visit Manali because of great weather around 10 Degree to 25 Degree varies at times. For adventure the best time is Sept-Oct and April to June because during winter the adventure activities closed in Solang valley and Rohtang Pass.

To see whole place covered in snow visit during December and January but make sure that you have good warm clothes because of temperature below minus.

How to Reach Manali:-

By Air:- The nearest airport is Bhuntur or Manali Airport which is closed to the city center but located at the distance of 50 Km. The Bhuntur Airport is connected with Chandigarh and Delhi with regular flights. So you can reach Manali from airport via taking a local cab.

By Trains:- The Nearest Railway station to Manali is Joginder Nagar railway station which is located at the distance of 143 Km from the city center. As well as if you are coming to Chandigarh from trains and then coming to Manali via roads it is around 314 Km from Manali city center.

By Roads:- The roads transportation is well connected with Manali and you can drive here through different destinations of Himachal Pradesh.
