Kedarnath Yatra Package 2027 – 3 Nights 4 Days from Haridwar

Kedarnath is the highest of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and the Dham most pilgrims want to see first. This 3-night, 4-day yatra from Haridwar is built around one fact: there is no road to the temple. You drive to Sonprayag, take a short shuttle to Gaurikund, and cover the last 16 km on foot, by pony or palki, or by helicopter. We plan two nights near Guptkashi, Phata or Sitapur, a night at Kedarnath and a day to return, so you get time at the temple instead of a rushed same-day trip. The 2027 opening date has not been announced yet, and we confirm each departure after the official date is out.

Route and travel times

Haridwar to Sonprayag is about 230–240 km; most of the road is mountain highway, and times vary with traffic and rain.

Trek, pony, palki or helicopter: which to choose

Walking. The path is well made, with tea stops and rest points. Do not trek after about 4:00 PM, carry a raincoat and take it slowly. For the route and pacing, read our Kedarnath trek guide.

Pony and palki. Both start at Gaurikund and are booked in person at authorised counters; there is no official online booking. Rates are notified each season, so confirm the current rate at the counter. See our pony and palki guide.

Helicopter. Kedarnath shuttle tickets are sold only on the official IRCTC HeliYatra portal, in the passenger's name, after yatra registration. Tickets are released in phases and sell out quickly. Dates and registration for 2027

The temple's 2027 opening date has not been announced; it is declared on Mahashivratri in early 2027. Kedarnath opened on 22 April in 2026 and closes on 11 November 2026 (Bhai Dooj) at 8:30 AM, and the 2026 dates are given only as history. Registration is mandatory and free on the Uttarakhand Registration and Tourist Care portal; carry the registration letter or QR code and a photo ID. Travel tips for Kedarnath

• Register before you travel and carry your ID and registration letter.
• Pack thermals, a raincoat, a warm jacket, trekking shoes, medicines and a power bank, even in summer.
• Leave heavy luggage in the hotel and carry a small bag to Kedarnath.
• Start early, walk slowly and drink water; stop if you feel breathless, dizzy or sick.
• If you have heart, lung, blood pressure or knee issues, see a doctor first and consider a pony, palki or helicopter.
• Avoid trekking in heavy rain; weather can change fast at height.
• Keep a spare day in your return plan.
