Auli & Chopta
Auli and Chopta are two of Garhwal's favourite mountain escapes, and they are often visited together. Auli, above Joshimath, has open snow slopes and is India's best-known ski area, while Chopta is the meadow base for the treks to Tungnath and Chandrashila and to Deoria Tal. These guides help you plan either place or both: itineraries from Haridwar, a per-person budget, the drive between the two, where to stay, what to pack for snow and summer, and the best time to visit month by month. You will also find the trek guides, skiing for beginners, snowfall and weather notes, and the latest on the Auli ropeway. They are written by the Gokeys team in Haridwar from the trips we plan through the year.
