Kedarnath
Kedarnath is the highest of the Char Dham shrines and the one that needs the most planning. The temple stands at about 3,583 metres and is reached by a trek of roughly 16 km from Gaurikund, by pony or palki, or by helicopter from the Guptkashi, Phata and Sersi helipads. These guides explain each step: registration, the shuttle from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, the trek route and how hard it is, helicopter ticket booking, pony and palki rates, and where to stay on the way up and at the top. You will also find how to book a puja at the temple and how far it is to Badrinath when you continue the yatra. The advice comes from the Gokeys team in Haridwar, who send pilgrims to Kedarnath every season.
