Valley of flowers is one the National Parks in India located at the elevation of 3366meters. It is known for one of the best trekking destinations in India. Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara

Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara is located at the height of 14100ft and it is the height located Sikh Gurudwara in the world. It is a holy place in Sikh religion and the lake near Gurudwara is full of snow during start. You will see the crystal clear lake here and enjoy that moment. Every year many Sikh Religion people come to visit the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara and also give free meals and accommodation for tourists at Gurudwara.

When to Visit Valley of Flower?

Valley of flowers closed for tourist during winter season from November to May Month because of heavy snow falls in the mountains and During Summer season from June to October the valley opened for tourists.  During monsoon the trek become more interesting because of small waterfalls everywhere in the hills and tourist enjoy it.  Just keep in mind to take warm cloths and water proof clothes with you to keep you dry.

So between June and Oct month you can visit the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.

How to Reach Valley of Flowers

The total Trekking route to the valley is approx. 17 Km from Govindghat and the nearest town is Joshimath which is around 1 Hour drive from Govindghat.

The trek begins from Govindghat to Ghangaria which is 14Km and then 3Km is flowers valley from there.

The Nearest airport is Jolly grant Airport Dehradun which is about 295 Km from there and Railway Station is Haridwar/ Rishikesh.  

Where to Stay in Valley of Flowers?

You can start the trip from Dehradun Airport, take cab from there and then reach to Joshimath which is about 11 Hours journey by road. One day 1 you can stay in Joshimath.

After that take cab to Govindghat (11Km) and then start trek to Ghangaria.

Ghangaria is the base camp for Valley of Flower and Hemkund Sahib Trek. And you can will many hotels, lodges and guest houses in Ghangaria. So you can easily make your planning as per stay duration.

The total time required for this trek is 5 Days from Dehradun to Dehradun and you can extend one more day to visit the holy shrine Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara.
